ONE SERIES. THREE MAJOR MOMENTS. ONE ROAD TO LA.

THE NEW WOD FORMAT

A new series structure for World of Dance Netherlands

World of Dance Netherlands is introducing a new competition structure built around two Regional Qualifiers and one Championship Event. This format is designed to give teams more opportunities to compete, improve, and earn their place on the highest stage of the World of Dance Netherlands series.

QUALIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE WOD NETHERLANDS CHAMPIONSHIP

The WOD Netherlands Championship is the final stage of the Dutch World of Dance series. This means that teams cannot enter the Championship directly without qualifying first.

To participate in the WOD Netherlands Championship, a team must have taken part in at least one official WOD NL Regional Qualifier. The best-performing teams from the Regional Qualifiers will be selected and invited to the WOD Netherlands Championship.

In addition, teams that can provide proof that they placed in the top 3 at an official World of Dance qualifier, either in the Netherlands or in another country, may also be eligible to register for the WOD Netherlands Championship.

This ensures that the WOD Netherlands Championship remains the stage where the strongest teams come together and where the Dutch World of Dance series reaches its peak.

HOW THE SERIES WORKS

Teams will have two opportunities within the Dutch series to qualify for the WOD Netherlands Championship.

The first opportunity is WOD NL Regional Qualifier 1. The second opportunity is WOD NL Regional Qualifier 2. During these qualifiers, teams present their performance to the judges and compete for a place in the Championship.

The best-performing teams from the Regional Qualifiers will be selected and invited to the WOD Netherlands Championship. This is the highest stage within the Dutch series, where the strongest teams come together again to compete for recognition, prestige, and the next step within World of Dance.

Teams that have previously placed in the top 3 at an official World of Dance qualifier, either in the Netherlands or internationally, may also be eligible to participate in the WOD Netherlands Championship, provided they can verify this result.

From the WOD Netherlands Championship, we continue building toward the bigger international goal: World of Dance Summit in Los Angeles.

QUICK FORMAT OVERVIEW

  • Compete in one or both Regional Qualifiers
  • Competing in both is optional
  • Your highest score counts
  • Top-scoring teams qualify for the Championship
  • The Championship is the final Dutch stage on the Road to LA

PERFORMANCE & FEEDBACK

Grow through the series

Teams are allowed to perform the same routine at both qualifiers. At the same time, teams are strongly

encouraged to use the judges feedback from the first qualifier to strengthen their performance and improve their scoring potential.

The format is designed not only to reward strong results, but also to create space for growth, adjustment,

and progression throughout the season.

CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION

The top teams move forward

At the end of the qualifier series, the top-scoring teams will receive invitations to compete at the World of Dance Netherlands Championship. The Championship is the highest stage of the series and is not open for direct entry. Teams must compete in at least one official Regional Qualifier in order to be eligible for Championship selection.

This structure creates a clear pathway throughout the season, from qualification, to progression, to the Championship stage.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE

The most prestigious stage of the Dutch series

The Championship is where the Road to LA reaches its highest point. More than a final, it is the most elevated moment of the entire series, a stage built to celebrate the best teams in the country and to showcase dance on its highest level.

Here, raw energy meets prestige.
Performance meets presentation.
And the journey of the season comes together in one defining event.

This is the stage where the strongest teams are recognized, where the full spirit of World of Dance Netherlands comes alive, and where the final step toward Los Angeles begins.

Battlezone

Returning at the Championship

The full Battlezone experience will return as part of the Championship Event.

During the Regional Qualifiers, selected invitational or exhibition battle moments may be featured on stage. However, the complete Battlezone concept will be reserved for the Championship, where it will return as a bigger and more dedicated part of the World of Dance Netherlands experience.

Road to Los Angeles

Building a stronger path toward WOD Summit

This format has been created with a bigger vision in mind: to build a stronger and more realistic pathway from World of Dance Netherlands toward World of Dance Summit in Los Angeles.

The winning team of the World of Dance Netherlands Championship will not only earn recognition at the highest stage of the series, but will also receive travel support toward the journey to LA. The goal of this format is to make that next step more achievable and to create a stronger bridge between the regional series and the international stage.
